Gabbie is currently completing her Pilates certification at the UW Madison Pilates Certificate Program. As someone who has never quite learned the art of keeping still, Gabbie has long found joy, strength and relaxation through engaging in various movement practices, with Pilates bringing the most profound insight and challenge. Gabbie has worked for many years in the field of special education, which has allowed her to explore the many ways that human beings process, apply and create knowledge. She brings this experience to teaching Pilates, through thinking about how to make the Pilates method accessible to clients with varied learning styles, experience, and relationship to movement.
Gabbie approaches both her personal Pilates practice and teaching with a spirit of curiosity and exploration- asking questions such as: how do our bodies’ individual areas of strength, challenges, and overall movement patterns both reflect and impact our lived experiences? How can the Pilates method help us to learn to move with more ease and less discomfort? With feedback, reflection and practice, what movements and postures are we capable of learning? She is so excited to continue exploring these questions as a part of the team at Spring!
