Emmi first became interested in Pilates as a way to supplement her education as a future physical therapist. She enjoyed the benefits she experienced in terms of strength and flexibility, but her biggest "aha-moment" happened when she connected with her mind and breathwork. The mind and body are not separate entities, but rather an interconnected system that affect each other profoundly. By practicing Pilates, Emmi explores how anatomical alignment and the nervous system interact to inform our lived experience.
Emmi enjoys working with a wide range of movers and collaborates with her clients to form goals specific to their lifestyle - whether that be improving functional strength for daily living, reducing pain after an injury, or honing sport-specific skills. As a current student with an inquisitive mind, Emmi approaches her clients' experience with curiosity and care. She appreciates the unique challenges we all face and she invites the possibility for joy and satisfaction in progress (not perfection).
While completing her B.S. in Kinesiology and Spanish, Emmi received her 900 hour Pilates Teaching certificate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is part of UW-Madison's Doctor of Physical Therapy class of 2029, and she looks forward to combining her Pilates experience with clinical knowledge.
